Woodbury Hunting Lodge
NLH is supplying handcrafted log floor joists, log trusses, roof system, portico, posts and other log features for this large 800 m2 lodge.

80 years old Douglass Fir logs used for front post & beam structure.

Table Hill , Otago
87 sqm holiday cabin /63sqm down stairs, 23sqm up/. Features log roof system, log floor joists, loft, conventional entry, french doors. Clever design done by one of our architects. More pics here.

Loburn

This is an extention to an existing log cabin. Picture bellow shows cabin being built in our yard. And on left during reassembly. January 2012.

 

Guyra, NSW, Australia
In September 2011 NLH crew reassembled this little log cabin in Guyra, NSW, Australia. 120 years old Cypress Pine logs gave this cabin lots of character. This cabin features two log floor joists, log ridge, verandah beam and posts.

Handcrafted Log Staircase for Upper Hutt project
Left - first handrail fitting. Right - staircase is taking shape.

 

Upper Hutt Residence

Log work is well in progress on this 330 sq.m. house for Upper Hutt. This log home features wrap around verandah, log staircase, log floor joists, truss, portico and more.

The massive lounge / great room is LOG POST AND BEAM -- another specialty of ours!

197 sq.m and some great log features including forked tree posts, log wall draws and arches.
Only 2 days for full assembly on site.

Fiordland Lodge in Te Anau, New Zealand

Graeme Mould and his team built this in 2000 (when we were South Island Log Homes).

The Lodge is high above Lake Te Anau, with spectacular views, and fine food and accommodation for hunters, fisherman, and other holidaymakers.

Our latest reassambly - 520 sqm, 2 storied house. Features 4 beatufuly handcrafted trusses and complex log roof system. More pics here.

 

 

Hokkaido, Japan
95 sq. m., 2 storied ski cabin. NLH build the log shell here in New Zealand, then carefuly loaded all the logs in to a container a shipped to Japan. One of NLH staff, with help of 2 Japanese builders, reassembled the cabin on site in 3 days.

The Tack Shed
Built by students during 2009 Log Building Course. The courses are organized annually by Aoraki Polytech and NLH.

3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and double garage attached. 185 sqm main floor, 98 sqm second floor.

Settled in native bush in Coromandel, single story 237 m2. A new home for us!

Front entry posts on left showing beautiful natural shapes, expertly joined. Single story holiday house, 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, 98 sqm.

 

Te-Anau B&B

Cozy Bed & Breakfast cabin. 55sqm main floor, loft 21 sqm.

 

 

Marlborough — Helicopter Assembly
There was no truck access to the building site, so we got as close as we could, and then flew every log in by helicopter.

This was safe and effective - we assembled this house in just 10 hrs, so the cost was not prohibitive either.

 

 

Ohau, Alpine Village

3 french doors and plenty of indoor-outdoor flow for the mountain views. Main floor is 73 sq m, with one bedroom, open plan kitchen-dining-lounge, and laundry-bathroom. First floor loft is 35 sq m with 2 bedrooms. Total 107 sq meters of living space. Mountain living at its best.

 

 

Madison, Wisconsin, USA
We delivered and assembled this house in the USA in May, 2006. Enclosed and finished by Baileys Log Homes of Poynette. Design by Robbin Obomsawin.
