A true family house. April 2012. Design of this house has been inspired by our NLH favorite plan – The Clearwater. It is one of the most cost effective 3 bedroom log homes, we came across, yet not lacking character and style. This plan features 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, log truss entry, carport… In April 2012 NLH crew assembled this well designed 3 bedroom house in Lake Tekapo. This beautiful river location up the Clarence was the perfect location for a log home, and we made it happen access a bit tricky again and the huge concrete bridge the trucks crossed is no longer there thanks to the 7.8 magnitude earthquake, our log home is still very much standing and in use, Boom

Marlborough — Helicopter Assembly
The first in the southern hemisphere to do a heli assembly, There was no road access to the building site, so we got as close as we could, and then flew every log in by helicopter. This was safe and effective – we assembled this house in just 10 hrs, so the cost was not prohibitive either.

Lawson Cypress home in Mid-Canterbury
These logs are larger than our typical log diameters – they average almost 400mm in diameter. The biggest logs are larger than 650mm. Log common rafter roof system – a beautiful, and not common, roof system that has a heavy timber ridge and log rafters.
