Castle Hill, NZ

3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, spacious loft. 197 sq.m and some great log features including forked tree posts, log wall draws and arches.

Winner of master builders house of the year for mid and south Canterbury 2016, 3 bedrooms, two story home. Living areas of 220sqm downstairs and 75sqm upstairs. Log staircase has been handcrafted by skilled Natural Log Homes crew.

Coromandel, North Island, NZ

Settled in native bush in Coromandel, single story 237 m2. A new home for us!

Lake Tekapo, Mackenzie Country

A true family house. April 2012. Design of this house has been inspired by our NLH favorite plan – The Clearwater. It is one of the most cost effective 3 bedroom log homes, we came across, yet not lacking character and style. This plan features 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, log truss entry, carport… In April 2012 NLH crew assembled this well designed 3 bedroom house in Lake Tekapo. Local carpenters finished it off just before a cold winter in the heart of Mackenzie Country set in. View the owner’s testimonial here.

Hawea Flat

4 bedrooms, main floor 170 sqm, second floor 80 sqm.

Lyttelton, NZ

Beautiful home, on steep site in the picturesque sea port town of Lyttlelton, we love an access challenge,

Clarence river, Kaikoura

This beautiful river location up the Clarence was the perfect location for a log home, and we made it happen access a bit tricky again and the huge concrete bridge the trucks crossed is no longer there thanks to the 7.8 magnitude earthquake, our log home is still very much standing and in use, Boom

Te-Anau

Another of my favourite places to be, with stunning views out over a golf course and over the lake, with the Kepler track just 1 minute away, and stunning Fiordland at your door step, 3 bedrooms, 115 sqm main floor, 50 sqm second floor.

Davis and Taylor House

In Twizel, Mackenzie Country, South Island. Three bedrooms, 2 stories, and a “T” shape floor plan of about 186 square meters. 128sq m down, 58 sq m up.

Madison, Wisconsin, USA

We delivered and assembled this house in the USA in May, 2006. Enclosed and finished by Baileys Log Homes of Poynette. Design by Robbin Obomsawin.

Maruia Home, NZ

3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and double garage attached. 185 sqm main floor, 98 sqm second floor.

Marlborough — Helicopter Assembly

The first in the southern hemisphere to do a heli assembly, There was no road access to the building site, so we got as close as we could, and then flew every log in by helicopter. This was safe and effective – we assembled this house in just 10 hrs, so the cost was not prohibitive either.

The sunny Wairarapa, where I have built many log structures, and where I taught many log home building courses, I love this lay out plan and look of this fantastic log home

Lawson Cypress home in Mid-Canterbury

These logs are larger than our typical log diameters – they average almost 400mm in diameter. The biggest logs are larger than 650mm. Log common rafter roof system – a beautiful, and not common, roof system that has a heavy timber ridge and log rafters.

Earth ships

We have been involved in two large earth ship projects mostly suppling the Vegas the roof logs, and more recently also supplying the massive 200mm square wall framing

Again the mountain areas of NZ suit these log homes so much, not only are they warm and strong they are staggeringly beautiful, Castel hill village mid Canterbury, skiing, cycling, tramping, or just lounging in the mountain air beautiful
